Training

Mission Year’s aim is to get you on the frontline of urban mission straightaway, while supporting you with comprehensive training throughout the year. The training is designed to resource you with skills and knowledge to help you to serve more effectively and to connect you with other Mission Year participants across London. All training is included in the payment for doing Mission Year.

the central training

• Fortnightly Evening Sessions – held throughout the year in a central locations.  Teams join together to hear a range of guest speakers on a variety of topics including: community organising,  workplace mission, avoiding burnout, mediation, the history of Christian communities, crossing cultural divisions, faith and politics and many more.
• House Study - undertake some study together or individually, using resources provided.
• Weekends Away including an induction weekend and a retreat half way through the year.

St Pauls theological centre

• Theology Course – you can also attend some specific training such as a theological course with St Paul’s Theological Centre. Courses at SPTC are run on Saturday mornings.
