ACT Feature in Idea Magazine

6 Mar

IDEA Magazine has written a feature on the Act Network, and how Mission Year is helping churches in the heart of their communities.

IDEA also spent a day meeting lots of amazing people who are showing their dedication to social transformation by getting involved with the ACT Network and Mission Year teams. They filmed interviews with church leaders, debt counsellors, Food Bank clients, women’s outreach workers – and just ordinary Christians who feel called to live out their lives in community with each other and with those in need around them.

And we are off…

17 Feb

We’re heading off to relax and rest in the sumptuous settings of Letton Hall for the Mission Year retreat weekend. As well as resting in God’s refreshing waters, spending quality time together and having lots of fun, Mission Year teams will be hearing from John Hayes, director of InnerCHANGE, a Christian order among the poor.

As the InnerCHANGE website professes, “We are moved by the life and love of Jesus, enticed by his goodness. We have sensed his call to take up our crosses and follow: knowing that as we lose our life for his sake, we will truly find it. Despite the enormity of the missionary task, we do not pursue this work with long faces. Rather, we rejoice in our opportunity to be messengers of the King as he invites all people – poor and rich alike – to his banquet table”.
