Our Values

Team Work - Recognising that we are more effective working together, in partnership with the host church and ministries.

Serving the Community – Resourcing the local church’s outreach to the community through working with ACT network-approved ministries, seeking where possible to reach out to those in the community, demonstrating to them the love of Christ.

Community Living – Sharing life together with a supportive community of other Christians in an urban context.

Living Simply – Being thoughtful about use of money, especially in relation to things that are shared by the house, seeking to support and bless others where possible. Living life without excess in order to understand and better care for the needs of our neighbours.

Serving and Supporting the host Church – Active involvement with a local church including engaging with the church’s outreach to the local community.

Building Relationships – Actively building relationships with others in the house, host church leaders, members of the host church and those in the local community.

Learning, Growing & Developing – Attending and actively participating in Mission Year training and seeking to grow spiritually with the help of the host church and Mission Year team.

Openness and Communication – Discussing with the Mission Year office or church leader any concerns or difficulties regarding the placement, recognising that conflict will occur during the year, using this as an opportunity to grow and learn and looking to the host church leader and Mission Year office to help with this where appropriate.
